Refugees have experienced many overwhelming, intense, and stressful events because of political or religious oppression, war, migration, and resettlement. It is difficult even to define all of the types of events they have suffered,
These types of experiences are so painful; they cause deep and lasting suffering. That suffering is known as "trauma." Trauma is a deep wound of the heart and mind that takes a long time to heal. It hurts every part of us: our relationships, our bodies, our thoughts, and our faith.
Mission Flourish brings hope and healing to refugee women, and provides safe places for them to heal from wounds of the heart caused by trauma or loss.
Mission Flourish exists to restore dignity, self-worth, spiritual, and emotional healing from the pain of trauma for refugee women.
Facilitate Healing Groups using the American Bible Society "Healing the Wounds of Trauma" method. Provide workshops to develop and teach practical skills.
Give a woman survivor of war, like Nu Meh, a single Mom of four, the resources, support, and skills she needs to transform her and her family's life. And most importantly, the woman God created her to be.
